Hi Parkside Family.
During our Good Friday service, I mentioned a unique opportunity for us to come alongside and support families from Beaverton High School who are struggling to meet some basic needs. In speaking with Dr. Anne Erwin, the principal at Beaverton High School, she has asked if we might be able to provide some non-food related, but still essential items, that families are struggling to find or afford. Several churches have stepped-up and are excited to work together to meet this growing need. Each church will be responsible for providing a specific group of items to be handed out at the school. Parkside has agreed to be the drop-off location for these items and is also where volunteers from these churches will gather (in groups of no more than 10 and who will be wearing masks and gloves), in order to assemble the items into individual family bags. We will use safe procedures to pack these items and then we will take them to the high school for Club Hope Students to put out for families to pick up. What can you do? Parkside has been asked to provide bath soap, deodorant, razors and shaving cream. Again, these items can be safely dropped off at Parkside Fellowship, in the parking lot, beginning this Thursday, from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Items that the other churches are collecting include detergent pods, feminine hygiene products, shampoo, TP, paper towels and Kleenex; if you would like, you are welcome to bring these items as well. Please continue to pray for our church family, our neighbors and community, as we ask God for protection during this pandemic. Seeking God's Glory Together. Pastor Doug Comments are closed.
